Relive the legend of old Dodge City at the Boot Hill Museum and Front Street Replica. This museum interprets life in the Wild West where gunfighters were buried with their boots on. Long before Dodge City was a busy cattle town, Fort Dodge was established to protect railroad workers and travelers on the Santa Fe Trail from the plains Indians. Ruts from the original Santa Fe Trail can still be seen today. A visit to the Gunfighters Wax Museum will bring to life western personalities like Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, Doc Holliday, Frank and Jesse James, Doc, Miss Kitty, Festus, and many more. In July Dodge City hosts one of the top ten rodeos in America; this five day rodeo features a wide range of exciting rodeo action for the whole family to enjoy. At the Dodge City Raceway motor sports fans can immerse themselves in the total speedway experience.
