The Wellesley is a magnificently restored heritage building. Designed by William Gray Young in 1927 this masterpiece was awarded a gold medal for architecture. It is regarded as Wellington's finest example of neo-Georgian architecture.

At the corner of Buckle and Taranaki Streets, turn right and follow this road for Approximately 200 meters in a northerly direction. Turn left into Jervois Quay. Follow Jervois Quay north for approximately 2 kilometers and then turn left into Ballance St. The Wellesley is located on the left hand side of Balance St.

Our luxury suites each have their individual character, but their size and decor reflect the opulent nature of the building. All have en-suite bathrooms of significant size. Like the executive suites the furnishings are in neo-Georgian style, while incorporating all the modern creature comforts to someone's stay relaxing and enjoyable. Living and sleeping areas are not separate. Also includes 1 king bed, non-smoking, Harbor view(limited suites available), coffeemaker, hairdryer, iron/ board, cable TV, desk, sofa, tea making facilities, mini bar, phone, modem jack/data port and bath robe.

Executive Guest Room with 1 Queen Bed, Harbor or Marina View, each room has its own distinctive character and has been fully renovated to combine modern comforts while staying in keeping with the neo-Georgian architecture of the heritage building.
