The Museum traces the trends and developments that have characterized and shaped life in Singapore as early as the 14th Century. Visitors can stroll through an early 20 Century Peranakan house, fully re-created with its imposing ancestral hall, to the intricately furnished bridal chamber.

Exhibits include modern art from Singapore and traditional art from Southeast Asia. One of the main attractions of the new museum is the E-image Gallery which features interactive programs involving 20th Century Southeast Asian art on large high definition visual monitors.

This museum will introduce you to the world of Chinese beliefs, symbolism and Chinese scholar tradition. Aimed at highlighting important socio-political-economic developments through Chinese history, the museum also houses the best of Chinese furniture, ceramics, jade and works of art.
