Things to Do in Titusville, Florida

Titusville's Enchanted Forest Sanctuary

The Enchanted Forest Sanctuary offers many nature trails and guided tours. Come to the forest and celebrate Earth Day, Veteran's Day Saturdays and the Family Fun Festivals. Visit the Merritt Island National Refuge Center with its six miles of trails, and driving tours. Stop at the Visitors Information Center for literature, exhibits, lectures and outdoor activities. Ulamay Wildlife Sanctuary has plenty of hiking trails, a fishing pier, and guided tours. Performances by migratory birds require no reservations.

Canaveral National Seashore

A wide variety of wildlife roam through the marshes, lagoons and the dunes. It's a bird lover's paradise filled with tranquillity and amazing feathered friends. Guided tours of the sea turtles nesting area is offered after sunset. The loggerheads, leatherbacks and the green seas lay their eggs from May to August.

Playalinda Beach

Playalinda Beach is usually closed for the days prior to a launch. Swimming is excellent, with high waves and strong currents. The five miles of wonderful beach are lined with delicate sand dunes. Facilities are limited.

Wuesthoff Park has short trails through the woods with picnic tables, a play area, and an activities building. The Titusville Municipal Marina is located on the Indian River featuring fine restaurants and great shops. Go crabbing or shrimping at the Veterans Titusville - Space Shuttle Memorial Fishing Pier. Bait and tackle are available. Fish for sea trout, redfish, whiting and others off the 620-foot pier.

South of town lies the Manatee Hammock Park with a terrific view of the Indian River. Camping is available. Ancient sand dunes, saw palmettos, live oaks and sand pines are abundant at Turkey Creek Sanctuary at Palm Bay.

United States Astronaut Hall of Fame

US Astronaut Hall of Fame houses memorabilia of the first twenty American astronauts. Simulators bring to life the experiences of space travel. Students from 4th Titusville Fishermen

through 7th grade can attend US Space Camp Florida. Space training simulators from Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs make the experience exciting.

The US Space Walk of Fame overlooks the Kennedy Center. A favorite place to view lift-off is at the waterfront terrace on the riverwalk. The riverwalk has a collection of art, sculptures, bronze markers and memorabilia of American space history.

The North Brevard Historical Museum displays artifacts of Titusville's early settlers. Handprints of the original Mercury astronauts and the 1877 Florida Star printing press are stunning. The Valiant Air Command/Warbird Museum is the greatest place to view Warbirds and current military iron. The Word War II Grumman Wildcat, an historic aircraft, is been restored after being in Lake Michigan for 50 years. The collections change and one never knows what to expect. Stop at the unique gift shop for a keepsake.

Titusville Playhouse

Culture can be found at the Titusville Playhouse, which produces 6 major productions per year. The theatre sponsors a variety of community events. The Titusville Art League has a gallery at the Searstown Mall.
